''Charles Percy Snow, Baron Snow'' CBE (15 October 1905&ndash;1 July 1980) was an English physicist and novelist, who also served several important positions in the UK government.<ref name=Columbia>'The Columbia Encyclopedia' (6<sup>th</sup> Edition, 2001-2005).
